Ultimate is a fast-paced, highly athletic, no-contact team sport, played
by two teams of 7 (outdoors) or 5 (indoors), using a flying disc on a
field set up similar to a rugby field. The objective is to score by passing
the disc to a teammate within the opponents’ endzone. This involves
running, throwing and catching the dish. Ultimate is played in 42 countries
and by hundreds of thousands of players worldwide.
About the UMB Ultimate Team
We practice twice each week, both indoor and outdoor, depending on
the weather. During the 2009/2010 academic year we will be practicing
on Wednesdays and Fridays, in the evenings. In addition to regular practice,
we participate in tournaments and friendly scrimmage games with
other teams in Norway. Our team is very diverse, with both Norwegian
and international students.
Come and play!
Everyone is invited to play Ultimate with us – the game can be learned
quickly and the emphasis is on fun and good sportsmanship. We are always
looking for new players and encourage you to come and try it out.
